Dovetail Associates on the Hudson, Ltd. is a consulting practice based in Poughkeepsie, New York focused on fundraising in the nonprofit sector, and web-based technology solutions for nonprofits, socially conscious businesses and government agencies.  We work on a project, consulting or contract basis depending upon the needs of our clients.

We are senior level managers with more than 40 years of combined experience as chief financial officers, development managers, program managers, board members, and volunteers.

Feza D. Oktay, MBA listens to gain insight and understanding into clients current situations and where they want to go, whether designing technology systems, managing information and business processes, or streamlining financial operations.

Prior to starting Dovetail Associates, he was CFO at A Better Chance in Boston and the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts where he developed new budgeting and financial management systems, including the first e-commerce site for Girl Scout cookies nationwide.

Feza holds an MBA with a concentration in Public and Nonprofit Management from Boston University and a BA in Computer Science from Brandeis University.  He has served as a regular consultant for The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving’s Nonprofit Support Program since 2002.

Diane von Roesgen Oktay, MEd, MBA, brings extensive experience in fundraising and program delivery.  As a member of Dovetail Associates, she focuses on the development of communications tools – fundraising proposals, major donor appeals, annual reports, infographics, website content and e-newsletters.  She has written successful proposals for foundation, corporate and government grants ranging from $2,000 to$1.3 million as well as successful individual appeals for gifts of up to $250,000.  Her experience includes the nonprofit fields of social services, affordable housing, out-of-school programs, healthcare, museums, education, environment, and child care.

Prior to Dovetail, Diane worked as a counselor and later as a fundraiser, including individual and grant management positions at Scenic Hudson, the Boston Children’s Museum, and Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston.

Diane holds a BA from Cornell University, and an MEd in counseling and an MBA in non-profit management, both from Boston University.
